Where Cary and Wake County legal notices are published: the state press association's site, the town's hearing portal, agendas and bids.
Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. This page is an index, not the official publication of any notice. Each notice’s legal home is the newspaper or government site where it is published; follow the links below. For town questions, call the Town Clerk’s Office at 919-460-4941; for county questions, call the office named in the notice.
Public notices tell residents about government actions that could affect them: hearings, rezonings, annexations, budgets, bids, foreclosures, estate filings and unclaimed property. In Cary they appear in several places.

1. North Carolina newspaper notices
North Carolina law still requires many notices to run in a newspaper. The North Carolina Press Association’s ncnotices.com compiles public notices published in North Carolina newspapers and is free to search. That is where to look for foreclosures, estate notices to creditors, construction bids and assumed business names in Wake County.
2. Town of Cary
- Public hearing notices: every town public hearing is posted to the town’s public notices portal before the meeting, with a staff report and a contact person, according to the town’s public hearings page. The Town Council, the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Historic Preservation Commission hold hearings. You can also sign up for a weekly email of upcoming hearings.
- Signs on property: state law requires the town to post signs on a parcel for hearings about its use. The public hearing cases page has a map of current cases, including rezonings and annexations.
- Agendas and minutes: the town’s agenda portal has every Town Council, Planning and Zoning Board and advisory board agenda, with video.
- Bids: the town advertises construction, design and purchasing work on the state’s Electronic Vendor Portal, according to its bids page.
