Cary’s bakeries cluster downtown on West Chatham Street, where a German bakery, a French bakery cafe and a cake and pastry shop sit within a few blocks of each other. A bread bakery is on NW Maynard Road, and La Farm has two more cafes at Preston and in west Cary. Donut, cinnamon roll and bakery-cafe chains fill in the shopping centers.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Cary’s town limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added the downtown and West Cary La Farm cafes from La Farm’s site and Cinnaholic from its own location page. Where a site would not load for us, a 2026 record in Wake County’s restaurant inspection data confirms the place is operating. We left out map entries we could not confirm. The list is alphabetical. The places

Annelore’s German Bakery opened its 3,600-square-foot downtown bakery in 2017, modeled on Munich and Viennese coffee houses and pastry shops. It bakes German breads and pastries every day.

Brecotea Baking Studio is on Kildaire Farm Road. Its site would not load for us; a Feb. 27, 2026, Wake County inspection record confirms it.

Chanticleer Cafe & Bakery on Tryon Road serves breakfast, lunch, dessert and coffee. Its name comes from the rooster in Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales.”

Cinnaholic at Parkside opened in January 2020. It bakes build-your-own cinnamon rolls, brownies and cookies, all vegan, and caters events.

Duck Donuts is the donut chain’s Wrenn Drive shop. Its location page did not show us hours; a Feb. 26, 2026, Wake County inspection record confirms it.

Great Harvest Bread Co. on NW Maynard Road says it mills its own whole wheat every day and bakes every loaf from scratch in Cary.

La Farm Bakery is master baker Lionel Vatinet’s French bakery and cafe. Its three Cary locations sell bread and breakfast pastries and serve a cafe menu.

Once in a Blue Moon Bakery and Cafe downtown sells cakes, cupcakes, pies, cheesecakes, breads and wedding cakes, and takes custom and dietary orders.

Panera Bread is the bakery-cafe chain’s Walnut Street restaurant, confirmed by an April 13, 2026, Wake County inspection record.

Paris Baguette is the bakery-cafe chain’s Cary Towne Boulevard shop, confirmed by a March 13, 2026, Wake County inspection record.
